This operation involves moving a tendon from the inside of the foot to the middle of the foot. Tibialis anterior is one of the tendons that bends the ankle backwards (dorsiflexion). The operation is done through 2 small (3-4cm wounds) on the back of the foot. A cast is required for 6 weeks. Patients are often allowed to go home the same day but will need to avoid weight bearing for 4-6 weeks.
